Governor's Creek - Located in Carthage - 55 mins south of Chapel Hill
3392 Underwood Rd, Carthage, NC 28327
Intermediate Trail: 4-6 miles long, no night riding
This is a pretty fast course with varied trail type. The first mile is pretty fast and not very technical. The entire course is heavily wooded and gets kind of nasty when it rains. The next two miles is fairly technical and not nearly as fast as the trail winds through the woods and across several streams and washed out gullies. The last 1.5 miles is fast and straight and takes you around the entire course once again. For the most part this is down hill and very fast. Towards the very end of the loop, the trail makes its way back up to the parking area. This loop is known as the race loop; Champion loop is another loop that goes around the course staying on the non-technical outer rim used by the race course. A pretty good ride. Similar to San Lee but a little faster.
